Electricity Bills Rising – Time to go Solar

Electricity prices are set to soar up to 18.3% across Australia after the energy watchdog AER decided to pass on hefty increases. In Victoria, the default price rise will be anywhere from 5% to 16% with businesses getting the biggest increase. The Essential Services Commission announced on Tuesday it had set the Victorian Default Offer prices to apply from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023.

Higher retail electricity prices will add to household hip-pocket pain, making installing solar panels an even more attractive prospect. Higher costs for fossil fuels and coal generators have been blamed for the rise. States like Queensland and NSW will face the biggest rise due to the fact they use less renewable energy than Victoria.

This goes to show renewable energy is a reliable way to save on costs. Solar power is the answer for households and businesses to offset higher electricity prices. Self-generated power means you are not relying on the power grid and being charged for every watt of power. No to mention renewable energy is good for the planet as well as your hip pocket!

Self-generated power is the way forward and we see in the solar industry this is the main attraction for people, not the feed-in tariff rebates. When solar was first on the market feed-in tariffs were the carrot on offer, but now as people understand the benefits of solar plus have a better general knowledge of solar power, renewable self-generated power is the drawcard.
